Imagine Aliens at the Exploratorium

In summer 2026, Imagine Aliens was featured in the Exploratorium's Life in Space exhibition in San Francisco. The installation introduced visitors to the extraordinary diversity of exoplanets and invited them to imagine the life forms that might inhabit these unfamiliar worlds.

A redesigned set of Imagine Aliens cards combined scientific information about planetary environments and biological adaptations with creative prompts. Accompanying stencils featured ambiguous organic shapes that could be combined and reinterpreted as alien body parts.

Four public workshops extended the exhibition into a hands-on creative experience. Participants used the cards and stencils to invent extraterrestrial organisms, exploring how scientific knowledge can stimulate artistic imagination.
